Every inquiry is routed to the desk that owns the category. The desk writes the specification, evaluates quotations and follows the order until it ships.

A large share of our purchasing is parts made to our own drawings. The desk reads the CAD data, prepares the request for quotation and follows the part through samples and production.
Confidentiality
Drawings and specifications are shared only with suppliers invited to quote and are used for that request alone. They are not passed on to third parties.
Quality from sample to shipment
Samples are approved before production starts. First articles are checked against the drawing, and shipments can be inspected before loading, by our desk or an independent inspection service.
Shipping lanes
From the factory gate to the destination port.
Goods move by road and rail from inland factories to the export ports of eastern China, then by sea to the United States and Europe and on to inland hubs. Rail to Europe runs on the Middle Corridor through Central Asia and the Caspian. Samples and urgent parts travel by air.

Request for quotation
The desk sends a written specification: drawing or reference part, material, quantity, packaging and target delivery.
Quotation & samples
Suppliers quote unit price, MOQ, lead time and Incoterm. Shortlisted suppliers send samples.
Inspection
Samples are measured and tested against the specification. Findings are shared in writing.
Purchase order
A formal PO confirms price, quantity, packaging, marking and payment terms.
Shipment
Pre-shipment photos, packing list and commercial invoice. Goods leave FOB port or EXW factory.

What a good quotation looks like.
Clear quotations are answered first. Please include the following in every offer.

- Unit price in USD, price breaks by quantity
- Incoterm
- FOB named port or EXW factory
- MOQ
- Minimum order quantity per item
- Lead time
- Production days after deposit, sample lead time
- Payment
- T/T; deposit and balance split stated clearly
- Packaging
- Units per carton, carton size and gross weight
- Documents
- Datasheet, material certificate or test report where available
- Validity
- How long the price holds. Material, freight or fuel surcharges listed separately, as costs move with the market
Common mistakes
Where quotations and orders usually go wrong.
Most delays we see have the same few causes. Avoiding them is the fastest way to a purchase order and a repeat order.
Quoting an old drawing revision
The price is right, the part is not.
Always state the drawing number and revision you quoted against.
Unclear Incoterm
"FOB" without a named port, or freight quietly included.
Name the Incoterm and the port or factory, and list freight separately.
Samples that differ from production
Hand-finished samples, then a different process in mass production.
Make samples with the production process and tooling.
Material changed without notice
A cheaper grade or a different coating to hold the price.
Ask before any change. Send material certificates with every lot.
Packaging not specified
Parts arrive scratched, rusted or mixed between cartons.
Quote the packaging: units per carton, protection, labels.
Lead time that cannot hold
A short lead time wins the order, then slips week by week.
Quote a realistic date and report delays as soon as they appear.
